My guild is an honorable and virtuous guild, and I would like to apply to become a
member of the Britannian Armed Forces, to aid in the defense of Britannia. How do I go about applying?
In accordance with the Constitution of Britannia, the High Council determines the makeup of the
Britannian Armed Forces by two-thirds majority vote. The first step then would be to approach the High Council
and pledge your interest in aiding Britannia.
The High Council is entitled to make decision on this without first consulting the Grand Marshall
of Virtue, but historically, the High Council typically asks candidate guilds to first meet with the Grand Marshall of
Virtue, as they want to be sure that the Grand Marshall gives his blessings to any incoming unit of the Britannian
Armed Forces.
Once the conditions of the High Council are met, which are typically answering some questions asked
by member Councilors and the assembled public at a meeting of the High Council, as well as having the blessing of
the Grand Marshall, the High Council will deliberate and vote upon entry into the Britannian Armed Forces.
It takes a two-thirds majority vote of a quorum of the High Council to approve entry. In short,
this means it takes a two-thirds majority vote of two-thirds of the available Councilors (say there are eleven Councilors
seated, but only 8 of them show to the meeting, this meets the "quorum" requirement).
If you are not approved, and yet, got the blessing of the Grand Marshall, do not despair. The Council
is a sometimes fickle beast, and the best word in this case is "perserverence." Find a sponsor Councilor, and
continue to show why you wish to become a member of the Britannian Armed Forces. In time, even Councilors who voted
against your inclusion in the Armed Forces may later change their vote.
Good luck, and may Virtue keep you safe. |
